Cancer patient may die after months languishing on waitlist

Alex* has spent the past two weeks thinking about how to say goodbye to his young son, as his chances of surviving an aggressive form of blood cancer dwindle.
“In the last few weeks, a lot of my efforts have gone into thinking about the ways to say goodbye without breaking his heart by making him think that I’m certainly going to die,” he says.
