Description
I’m selling a used Rolleiflex 2.8F with its original box and my father-in-law’s original purchase receipt. Based on the serial number this is a model K7F (type 1), which was made between 1960 and 1965 and takes 12-exposure rolls of 120 film; the primary lens is a Carl Zeiss planar 1:2.8 80mm lens. It was bought and used by my father-in-law, and then passed to me.The camera appears to be fully functional. It had an old roll of film in it, which I used to take some test images two weeks ago - I’ve included a few of those test images with this ad (including a selfie of me using the camera to take the image); the exposure settings for all of those images were selected using only the built-in light meter.
I have tested the following:
The back of the camera latch holds securely and the back opens as expected
Film advancement and shutter winding work as expected
Frame counter advances when winding the shutter
Film ISO adapter dial and under-exposure setting knob both move and adjust light meter as expected
Light meter - both the light-sensing needle and shooting-settings needles move as expected
Aperture and shutter speed adjustments function, and adjust the display dial on top of the camera (probably a bit stiffer to move than they were originally, but they are moveable with one or two fingers)
Focus knob works and body moves smoothly in and out while focusing
Depth of field indicator next to the focus knob moves in response to aperture changes
Shutter release works smoothly (manually pressed; I don’t have a cable release for it and thus have not tested it with a cable release)
Shutter timing noticeably changes when shutter speeds are changed
Self-timer functions
Lens cap attaches and releases
The viewing screen and focus-assist magnifying lens are in good condition with no scratches or damage that I can see
The “sports view” viewfinder works (and includes a mirror so you can quickly check focus as well)
The camera is in good condition for being at least 56 years old. It was regularly used by my father-in-law (he did wedding photography back in the day), so it does have wear on the body (e.g., the leather around the winder knob is damaged, paint is worn in a few places, leather in other areas has a few nicks, finish is worn on a few of the metal pieces) and grime from daily use / long storage. The dials that have engraved markings on them are a bit faded, but readable. There is a crack in the plastic cover for the light meter, but the cover is completely attached and intact. The camera has not been serviced recently.
The camera comes with its original box (which is empty, and shows shelf wear / has a large dent on one corner), the original purchase receipt, what I believe is the original lens cap, and I’m including for free a flash adapter / external grip (that shows signs of heavy use, is untested, and is in poor condition, including a broken piece of plastic near the flash mount point). No other accessories are included (sorry, I don’t have ‘em!).
I'm located in the United States and am happy to ship internationally through eBay's Global Shipping Program. Any customs duties, import fees, or other costs/taxes associated with shipping the item internationally will be paid for the buyer.
If you have any questions or want to see more images, please drop me a note! My father-in-law loved this camera, and I hope it can get into the hands of someone who will appreciate (and use!) it.
