During Vietnam war, "
Spook
" unit flew black painted C-130E(I)s in Southeast Asia circa 1965 - 1972 and were part of Projects Thin Slice and Heavy Chain.
Demobilized in 1972 and most of the assets were turned-over to the Combat Talon Program.
Twelve men from this squadron are listed as participants in the Son Tay Prison Raid, North Vietnam.
