    Description

    The glass top is in excellent condition. It has no damage, nicks, scratches, or stains, and the rubber gasket is soft and pliable.
    I did test the coffee maker with water and it appeared to work perfectly. The water heated, flowed to the top, and it shut off after the proper amount of time.
    The auction includes the glass top, C30A bottom, electric cord, and lid.
    The Sunbeam glass "beehive" top is a very hard to find vintage part of the C 30A vacuum coffee maker.This model of glass top is rarely found because it was only made during a short period.
    According to Brian Harris's wonderful website devoted to Vacuum Coffee Pots, the beehive top was only made during World War II while restrictions on the use of copper in household appliances were in place.In response to the restrictions, Sunbeam substituted a glass brew top for the standard chrome-plated copper top, and included a coupon allowing the owner to upgrade to a chrome-plated top when the war restrictions were lifted. I do not have one of the coupons by the way.
