Description
Due to its age of roughly 90 years, the interior oils within this Rolleiflex have dried up. Many of the mechanisms still move, including the focus, f/stops, and shutter speeds but the shutter does not fire. To bring it back to life, it needs to be taken apart and cleaned, with fresh oil added. Outside of the mechanics, this particular Rolleiflex has pristine, beautiful Tessar 75mm f3.8 glass elements.
Everything is original and in good structural condition. There are plenty of marks in the black paint but the leather covering is honestly pretty great. You will find small marks throughout but again very minor.
I guarantee you will receive what I have photographed.
Please ask all questions before placing a bid and if requested, I am happy to provide additional images.
The
Rolleiflex
original standard (model 621) was made by
Franke & Heidecke
in Braunschweig, Germany from 1932 to 1935. This camera is also referred to as the "Old Standard”due to the introduction of the New Standard in 1939. These model numbers are not found anywhere on the camera. The Old Standard had several improvements over the original model, that included:
A lever film transport
An amazing sportsfinder
Improved shutter speeds
