Formed under the French in 1950 the Border Ghost Recon Unit continued to operate as a fighting force throughout the years leading to the American involvement in the Vietnam War and were CIA Trained from the late 1950's until the official permanent arrival of the US Special Forces.
Members of one of the smallest of the Montagnard Tribes, the Jeh (with a total Tribal Population of less than 15,000) they inhabited the Laotian / Vietnamese Border (Primarily inside Laos).
The 'Border Ghosts' unit had at some stage been fully airborne trained as the patch indicates however by the mid 1960's were primarily a Ground Recon Unit operating in their homeland area.
Company sized with less than 120 operatives the 'Border Ghosts PRU' were led the US Mike Force, Special Forces Operatives and performed missions as a raiding party along the Laotian Border and also operated as scouts for Hatchet and SLAM Units.
