  • Condition: Good condition for age. This is a beautiful vintage percolator but it does have a couple issues. There are minor scratches/spots on the outside. I think many of the spots could be removed with a thorough cleaning. There is a place on the outside, to the right of the spigot, where there is a noticeable scratch. One of the pictures shows this. The glass bubble top has part of its base chipped off. I also took a picture of this. The chipped bubble top does not affect the operation of the percolator at all; it screws into the lid tightly and works as it should. The inside of the pot is fairly clean - no heavy coffee buildup.

    Description

Up for auction today is vintage coffee percolator made by the Continental Silver Co., Inc.  It is catalog #20.  It holds 64 oz. of water.  It is chromium plated.  While it does show signs of wear/use (see description above) it is still a lovely piece of history and works fine.  One thing to be aware of about coffee percolators from this era: they do not have the automatic shut-off feature we are so accustomed to today.  I've owned several and they all are the same way.  I suppose, because they are so ornate, they were designed to perk for however many minutes you chose, then taken into the dining area to dispense.  I don't know if my thinking is correct or not - but that is my 25¢ worth.  All the photos are of the actual item that is for sale.
If you have any questions, let me know and I will do my best to respond quickly.  Thank you for looking at my percolator.
